It is 1903, and you are traveling up the Snake River on a sternwheeler from Lewiston, Idaho to Eureka Bar, Oregon, where a copper mining venture briefly flourished. A natural enviorment of overwhelming beauty - a beauty both harsh and tender - frames the journey. 
 
Using archival photographs, contemporary videography, and a lyrical style of story-telling, the video dramatizes the dreams of investors, homesteaders, and miners struggling to make a living and a profit in this "fearsome land".
