Help us collect local history
Our community archive and museum collection have been assembled over several decades through the generous donations of material from Nez Perce County residents and their decedents. We accept a variety of materials that help us tell the story of Nez Perce County's past, including, but not limited to:
-
everyday objects
-
clothing
-
personal papers
-
business or club records
-
historic photographs
-
oral histories
Our storage capacities are limited, so we have a difficult time accepting large items or record sets that exceed one or two boxes.
We use the following criteria to determine if an item is appropriate for us to add to our collections.
-
Object is relevant to events of persons of Nez Perce County.
-
Object is of use in research, exhibit, or interpretation activities.
-
Object is not duplicated by another artifact in the collection.
-
Object is not damaged, excessively worn or weathered.
-
Object is complete or an important element of a larger object.
-
Object is not made of hazardous material.
-
Object can be properly stored or preserved by NPCHS.
-
Object would not be more appropriate for another institution.
